The supermarket giant Morrisons has proposed a last-ditch rescue deal for McColls Retail Group that would preserve the majority of its 16000-strong workforce. McColls lenders had rejected an initial offer from Morrisons on Friday that would have seen it take on the firms debts and repay them.
